The first half of the Grand Line, colloquially referred to as Paradise, stretches from the Twin Cape to Mary Geoise. It is located between East and South Blue, and goes from the Twin Cape to Mary Geoise. The agents of CP9 then leave their home island, sailing off into the distance with the flower of beauty and goodwill symbolically planted in the earth of their childhood home. Upon their return from Enies Lobby, the Straw Hats rest in Water 7, which is being repaired by Galley-La company's carpenters due to the damage left by the Aqua Laguna. Paradise is the name of the first half of the Grand Line given by pirates fleeing the New World, compared to which 'the first half is a paradise'. Panicked, Spandam and his father, Spandine, then plot the obliteration of CP9. They are on a hijacked boat with the body parts of Very Good left scattered behind. Spandam, in his intensive care unit, receives a Den-Den Mushi call from Lucci, who says that someday they will return for him - likely for revenge, since Spandam was the one who blamed CP9 for the failure of the mission and sent the Marines after them. The Marines, being lead by Captain Very Good, show up to capture CP9, but they fiercely protect their home, quickly dispatching them. Knowing that they can't remain on the island anymore, they prepare to leave the island, but before they do, a girl comes up to them and presents Kalifa with a beautiful flower as thanks for saving her and her mother.ĬP9 returns to their homeland, where they witness a future generation of Cipher Pol is being trained. Overall, just based on the strength of the story I'll have to give it to Enies Lobby, even if Marineford had some of my favorite moments in the story.Surviving the annihilation of Enies Lobby through Blueno's Air Door, the members of Cipher Pol 9, with the exception of Spandam, are forced to travel on foot to St. There were things that were mostly either inferred or treated as moments that will clearly come into play in the future, like Ace talking about Dadan and Sabo, Oars Jr mentioning the hat Ace made was something he picked up from in Wano, Blackbeard being able to have 2 devil fruits, etc. EASILY.but in terms of actual storytelling it didn't feel natural? Kinda hard to explain. Marineford had some of the hypest, most shocking moments in the series. Obviously none of these changes are final or set in. There were some developments that were dumb, like Sanji's whole thing with Khalifa was fucking stupid but whatever. Downgrading Rob Lucci (Enies Lobby Arc) to Town level for being comparable to the Town level Reject Dial. Robin's flashback is top tier, Usopp taking off his mask to encourage Luffy and of course Merry. Story wise Enies Lobby had some good moments. Seriously I can't begin to describe how annoyed I was to see cliffhangers like "Sengoku is getting ready to fight! Garp is rolling up his sleeve! Mihawk is fighting a top tier swordsman! Blackbeard is fighting Sengoku and Garp!" only to find out its all fucking nothing and happens entirely off screen lmao. It was a bunch of chaos with some of the worst blue balling I've ever seen in a fictional work.

However, Marineford didn't even really have fights. Definitely was not a fan of Zoro/Sanji getting seemingly random powerups.

The set up for many of them being "find the keys so you can free Robin" was awkward. Let's see.if we're talking just those arcs and not the sagas they're a part of:įight wise I didn't care for any of the fights in Enies Lobby other than Luffy/Lucci.
